Confirmed from Tamarac Veterans’ Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Canal park with a lighted memorial by local sculptor Beth Ravitz, plus picnic areas & a boat launch.
What runners say about Tamarac Veterans’ Park
“Plenty of parking space, and clean restrooms on site.”
“Di Augusto Mercato Italiano has a beautiful booth with the most delicious first cold-pressed olive oils and balsamic vinegars.”
“Tamarac Veteran’s Park is a serene and contemplative environment where one can stroll, bike, picnic and remember all who serve and served our country.”
Great place to chill on a Sunday afternoon. Pick up some food from one of the tent vendors and head on over to a bench near the water and eat up! Nice walk way and dog park if you have a pet. Always nice to visit there especially on a Sunday!
Very nice to see the salute to the Veterans at the City of Tamarac! The memorial is beautiful and meaningful — a wonderful way to honor those who served. The only challenge is that the names are hard to read since they’re etched in glass without much contrast.
Very nice park. Clean. Well maintained. Benches and picnic tables with covers from the sun. There is a little dock where you can fish. The bathrooms there are super clean and they have a water fountain. It shares the same parking lot as Gary B. Jones dog park.
Amazing walking path. Every Sunday, there's a farmer's market with some great vendors

The practical stuff
- AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
