Confirmed from Tammany Trace - Covington Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Public park featuring picnic tables and a restroom, plus an amphitheater, trails, and a bridge.
What runners say about Tammany Trace - Covington Trailhead
“Beautiful area, trace and town for one day adventure, although you can repeat the experience endlessly”
Our favorite way to spend a weekend! Paddle board, canoe or kayak along the river in the morning, then bike from Covington trailhead to Abita for lunch. If you go on Sundays, you can visit the farmers market. Just perfection 🤍
I love this trail, well maintained. I biked all the way to the lake and it was pretty awesome.
The Worlds Largest Ronald Reagan statue is located here. This is a nice little stopping point along the Tammany Trace, a walking and bike path in the St Tammany Parish that goes along the old railroad tracks.
We thoroughly enjoyed the Tammany Trace - Covington Trailhead area. This is a wonderful development and the entranceway to the Tammany Trace. A great reuse of the old railway right of way, the trace runs from Independence, LA to Covington. The paved area is great for walking, bicycling and horseback riding.
