Confirmed from Tanner Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Amenities at this park include a little league field, tennis court, paved walkway & playground.
What runners say about Tanner Park
“At the far end (you'll still need to hike back, and that's mostly uphill) there's some rocks in a stream that's picturesque and playful.”
“There's not a lot of shade on the trail so during the hot months I'd recommend going early in the morning or later in the evening, mid day for cooler months.”
“Dogs and owners are usually friendly and there's a chill vibe amongst everyone.”
I moved here from the Midwest, so maybe I'm easily impressed, but this is the best dog park I've seen. There's a gravel trail 20+ feet wide with vegetation one each side and a few detours you can take along your way.
CAUTION: WHIRLPOOL This is a really great trail. Beautiful. My dog loves it and everyone is friendly. However- at the end of the hike there is water for the dogs to play in. Be extra cautious around the whirlpool.
This place is the ultimate off leash dog park. My baby girl Jupiter LOVES it here! It normally takes us 20ish minutes to get to the end of the trail where there is a big pond for dogs and people to go in. This place is great, but just be careful about going when it's hot because it isn't always shady. And bring water!!
Mix of a dog park and a trail. Dogs of all sizes off leash so be careful if your dog is small. Takes about 15-20 min to reach the end where the creek access is. Plan for 30-40 min. round trip. In the winter the hill at the beginning can get pretty icy.

“The trail is less than 2 mi round trip with a little bit of elevation at the beginning.”
“The bike trail is outside the park, but connects in a few places for a nice paved walk too.”

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
