Confirmed from The Bird Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Well-marked hiking area with short trails suitable for families.

1-15-23 Easy trail at .5 miles. Red circle blazes. Accessed by the 350 Yard Trail/Cliffs overlook. This trail intersects the Galax Trail as well. Sandy trail that has some roots, wide and well formed, and mostly flat with occasional small hills. Labeled as easy, and I would agree.
I went here with my family. The trails were very nicely done. The hiking is amazing here. You have so many options to enjoy this state park. From camping to swimming all the way to hiking the amazing trails and even fishing the river. There is so much you can do here at this park.
Love walking that trail. I did see a black snake on the trail last time I walked it. It is so beautiful to walk through
2025.10.22 night car-camped at the Cliffs of The Neuse CG. The Rangers were professional, helpful, kind and friendly. The CG was nice and quiet (not many Campers), clean bathroom/toilets, and well-maintained👍 Got up early 2025.10.23 pre-dawn to beautiful stars ..
