We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of The Henry Cook Lookout Point yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (51 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 10 mentions

“A moderate level trail in my opinion but worth the hike up as the views at the top of the lookout point were gorgeous.”

👟 good for all levels 2 mentions

“Spectacular vista point, especially at sunset, and it’s a relatively short and easy hike to get there from Stough Canyon Nature Center.”

It’s a 0.7 mile hike to get to it, steep 10° grade, but it was an accomplishment!

Honestly, The Henry Cook Lookout Point should be crowned as a national monument. It has phenomenal lookouts, gorgeous landscape, and valleys wider than the Grand Canyon.

★★★★★ — Sungjoo , Dec 2018

I definitely would suggest doing this hike in the early morning or late evening. We went midday and despite being only 70 degrees there’s a lot of sun exposure and it’s all uphill. It was a rewarding view even if it was a bit hazy.

I visited this spot on a Sunday afternoon. Not crowded. Great views of the city of Burbank. Sunrise or sunset is nice. 15 min walk on easy incline up to from the trail head. 1 bench to sit and no shade. I saw many small, lizards on the trail. Paths are wide it's like a "fire road".

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
