Confirmed from The Naples Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Known for gopher tortoises, this environmental reserve has a wooden walkway for human visitors.

What runners say about The Naples Preserve

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (318 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 5 mentions

“It is wheelchair accessible, very clean everyone enjoyed it and they have picnic tables, nice sitting area and plenty of shaded spots.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 5 mentions

“The tiki hut area they have is gorgeous as well, looks newly renovated or just in great condition, and a nice spot to sit and enjoy outdoors (even with cars whizzing by).”

The Preserve is located about 8 minutes North of Downtown Naples; about a 2.5 mile drive; next to the Naples Zoo. The boardwalk is an easy 0.4 mile walk through the oak scrubs and pine flatwoods. This is great for kids and it is stroller friendly. You'll spot gopher turtles and different plants/trees.

Nice little gem in the middle of the city. Really enjoyed the short walk in nature. There were cute educational boards along the trail, mainly talking about tortoise. Luckily We did see one at the end of the trail. It was crawling towards us, then went back and hide in a burrow. Super cute.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

“Take a short, relaxing walk along the boardwalk, stop at the various lookout points, and enjoy wildlife such as gopher tortoises.”
