Confirmed from Three Falls Woods' own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Scenic outdoor area offering hiking trails through dense woods.
What runners say about Three Falls Woods
“Really beautiful place and a short hike to the waterfalls all three are next to each other it is quite a sight to see.”
“The trail itself was very well marked and clear.”
This park was an unexpected gem! The main loop trail takes you through a beautiful forest that is steeped in history. Walk the rocky trail to find stone walls built by early settlers. See even older foot paths from Native Americans. This also a great area for bird watching.
Located in Dewitt/Manlius outside Syracuse, three falls woods is a good place for some hiking and connecting with nature. When you get to the intersection you take a right and walk all the way up to the top passing a few waterfalls (they are not that big) and you can loop around and come back to the bottom.
Nice place to hike. Waterfalls and pond to view, couple cliff outlooks. Walked both main trails at a slow pace, about 2hrs. Easy for every age group. Not stroller friendly. I noticed a few piles of dog waste that was not picked up unfortunately.
Beautiful walk down a narrow path that leads to waterfalls. Spring time is the best time to go as it's mostly dried up in the Summer. Still, it's an easy walk with some gradients, just watch for roots and rocks jutting up from the ground.
Trail conditions & character
“Since having first explored the entire woods and visiting each of its waterfalls, I have found that as of recent, new waterfalls and streams have formed!”
“Beautiful walk, not very long in itself, because a little muddy when I went, but it had just rained the day before.”
“One draw back is all the trails have white markers but the map in the parking lot shows colored trails.”
