Confirmed from Thunder Mountain Overlook Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Thunder Mountain Overlook Park
“The hiking trails are great and provide beautiful scenery throughout the area.”
Be at one, with nature here. The hiking trails are great and provide beautiful scenery throughout the area.
I went to this park because I heard it had unusual geographic features, AND to acclimate my new rescue dog to seeing people. I wasn't happy to find out there was a $5.00 fee to enter. It was a cold winter day but no snow had yet fallen. It had several looped trails and we only did a couple.
Explore the Midwest and the forested hills and valleys of the Up Nort'. The trails are clear of debris, and you can even get a Subaru Loyale up almost every trail. I even made a meme to elaborate on the situation. Atv trails, boondock camping and exploring in your rig are all here in the thunder mountain area.
Great place for hiking with lots of trails to explore. was disappointed that overlook points were nothing more then clearings. I would go back again.
Trail conditions & character
“The overlooks are more of clearings so you don't get a solid view of the surrounding valley but still enjoyed the family time on the nice trails.”
“Explore the Midwest and the forested hills and valleys of the Up Nort'.”
