What runners say about Thunderbird Trailhead
Was here in July and the recent rain has made the vegetation flourish, covering some paths on the trail. I don’t recommend wearing shorts or even short sleeves if you’re going to the end of trail where there’s a lot of scrambling.
There’s a small free parking lot at the base with a little playground. The trail up to the thunderbird (the red rocks on the mountain) can be a little tricky to find - ultimately you’re heading first to the water tank up a gravel service road, then on the small trail beyond that.
Very nice trailhead. If lucky you will run into Deer, raccoon,skunks and other animals.
