Confirmed from Tot Hill Farm Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
National forest offering hiking trails of varying difficulty levels, as well as a golf course.
What runners say about Tot Hill Farm Trailhead
“Great trail and well maintained!”
“Mostly well marked except for one spot going clockwise before site 3, where I accidentally wandered a little bit into the gamelands before redirecting myself.”
One of my favorite places to hike and camp in the fall through early spring. There are some camping sites quite close to the parking lot which make it a suitable place for taking someone on their first backpacking trip or for a quick overnight after work.
Very nice trail, offers a variety of choices. We did a seven mile loop (main trail to Camp 3 trail fork, then went Camp 3 trail until it merged back to the main white trail, and then back) under a mild rain and it took us (casual hikers) some 3.5 hours.
Very small gravel lot, and a lot of cars parked along the road when I visited, a Saturday around 10:30am, but I barely passed anyone on the trail. I took a nice ~7mi loop that passed through group sites 3 and 5.
Trail begins right off the road. Small parking lot maybe 10 cars or so. We took the Birkhead mountain trail and followed the white blaze. The map is hard to read and the trails don’t populate on google maps (you should have signal the entire time too!) it said that birkhead was 6miles but does not loop...
