Confirmed from Treaty Rock Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Picturesque park & locale of a historic 1871 treaty, with wooded hiking trails & picnic areas.

What runners say about Treaty Rock Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (239 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 6 mentions

“Very historical location with a nice little trail and some beautiful flowers growing along the way.”

Beautiful walk in the park and if you go full circle the last part is the most Beautiful.

★★★★★ — Shawn , Oct 2022

Very historical location with a nice little trail and some beautiful flowers growing along the way. It's a massive chunk of granite rock with some quartze veins running through it . There's a lot of information signs telling about the history and you can see the etching on the rock still.

★★★★★ — D , Sep 2022

Interesting historical site, just off the interstate. There is a main trail loop and a "cutoff". It's relatively easy hiking. Some shade, but best bring your water bottle. Not much parking... maybe 8 spaces or so? Good place to stretch your legs if you're passing through.

★★★★★ — Brady , Aug 2023

Nice little area for picnics, and quick history lesson. Not much for a hike at the park specifically.

★★★★☆ — Steven , May 2026

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
