Confirmed from Trippet Ranch's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
This ranch in Topanga State Park serves as a starting point for a number of hiking trails.
What runners say about Trippet Ranch
“Beautiful hike, birdsong everywhere, and Western toads just metamorphosed and were everywhere.”
“The views are gorgeous, and the trails are shaded and easy to navigate.”
“Great pace to hike, family friendly, nice views once you get to the top.”
It's a long hike... Probably 4 miles in total going to the top and then coming back. But once you reach the top, you can enjoy some magnificent views because of the great height.
This is a great starting point to some of the Topanga canyon trails. Eagle rock is just a couple miles (uphill) from the parking lot. Musch trail is very scenic and pretty.
It's a proper spring with rolling hillsides of lush green, tall grass. There are lots of streams if you take the Musch trail. It's a good option to take because otherwise you will never see them ebb and flow after the rainy season is over.
It’s a great nexus/hub for starting a bunch of hikes here: Musch trail, Parker Mesa overlook and parts of the Backbone trail.
