Confirmed from Turkey Hill Overlook Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Turkey Hill Overlook Trail

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (503 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 13 mentions

“Beautiful overlook trail as always, this time of year (August) the trees are full of birds and leaves, the overlook can be a little hard to see!”

👟 good for all levels 2 mentions

“Pretty easy hike with a nice view at the top.”

My wife and I rode our bikes 16 miles here the other day! What a fabulous experience! The river on your right and rock cliffs on your left make it feel like you are in paradise! There are numerous lovely waterfalls! We saw 5-6 bald eagles, and a family of osprey.

Nice trail for a short hike up to the top of Turkey Hill for nice views of the river and windmills. Good opportunity to be real close and almost directly under the windmills.

This is a wonderful riverside trail. It can be divided up into 2 sections. The first is the 3 mile gravel portion of the enola low grade trail. It is flat and great for biking, running or walks with kids.

★★★★★ — Niles , Sep 2019

Enola low grade trail was excellent, great view of the prr engineering marvel, well groomed, wide, dry and level, no more than 1% grade. Very scenic this time of year since the trees are not blocking the views, since there is no foliage.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
