Confirmed from Turkey Mountain's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“Turkey mountain is a beautiful park and hiking area with easy, intermediate, and difficult trails for all levels of experience.”

I'm originally from New England so I'm used to the White Mountains in New Hampshire, so the first thing I did when I moved here was ask where I could go hiking and I was told Turkey Mountain. Turkey mountain is a beautiful park and hiking area with easy, intermediate, and difficult trails for all levels of experience.

Easy to find from downtown Tulsa for either the top or button parking lots. Plenty of trails to choose from; for beginners to moderate. The natural staircase was awesome! Issues are that the park maps doesn't match the hiking trail app - All trails.

Very nice park. Well maintained. This park has separate trails for hikers, bikers, and horses. I did 3.83 miles 1.38 hrs. It was pretty humid. I did a loop on 2 different trails. Didn't see much wildlife, but it was pretty busy with people.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
