Confirmed from Turtle Hill's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Kid-friendly area offering easy hiking trails and opportunities for biking and ATV riding.
What runners say about Turtle Hill
“The ensuing sunset through the clouds was gorgeous.”
“Turtle hill is great for a hike or an off road easy trail.”
Absolutely love this hike for not wanting flat ground, but needing to strengthen myself for more. Beautiful and well-worth the short jog over. P.S. Burned a bit over 230 calories @ brisk rate, according to Fitbit standards
Short steep hike with beautiful views. I find a heart rock everytime I hike it, so it has become The hill with love.
The trail is rocky and easy enough to climb. Yes you can ride a 4 wheeler up, but a motorcycle can be hard because of the big and small rocks. But the view looks really pretty and you can see everything. Bring lots of water. About a 15-30 minute hike.
Great OHV trails all around this area. Went here to test out some recent repairs on my SXS. The trail up to Turtle Hill is easily doable with most any ATV and I didn't even put mine in 4 wheel drive. Pretty rocky at some points but I was able to go right up. The ensuing sunset through the clouds was gorgeous.

The practical stuff
- AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
