This is an enjoyable 1.4 mile, flat dirt-packed, shaded forest trail loop (not suitable for strollers - too many tree roots). It feels isolated, although it's tucked between neighborhoods and you can see the backyards of houses through the trees.
Ushers Road State Forest was a hiking trail we found randomly while in the area searching for a successful hike. The forest was pretty wet. It had just rained 2 days before so there was lots of mud. There were a lot of large trees down all over the place. In particular, totally blocking progression of the trail.
Nice local 1 mile loop. Flat. Usually quite a bit of mud on the NW side. Pine stands are very pretty.
I love to just come hangout in these weird areas, walk around, or during hunting season, hunt. Great area, close by clifton park center, literally 2 minutes from my home, convenient and a great place to get away from the fighting children or "nagging wife/girlfriend" (Honey I'm joking...) seriously though,
