Confirmed from Dwaas Kill Nature Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
240-acre reserve offering a natural habitat for animals & plants, hiking trails & fishing spots.
What runners say about Dwaas Kill Nature Preserve
We visited in September 2023 and definitely plan to go back! Beautiful well maintained trails! When we were there in a Saturday morning around 8AM there was no one else there. Easy, mostly flat walk with some benches. We will be back!
Giving 4 stars because it is a nice trail, just want to also let people know it is over grown as of today (5/29/22) and should be very careful, we just left because not even 10 ft into the trail did my dog and husband have ticks on them. Just enjoy this trail with caution right now 😊
Great place to ski or snowshoe. New trail added by local Eagle Scout makes for great addition to the preserve. This new trail has two overlooks with benches.
Very cute little hike through the woods. Includes a number of intercrossing routes to take, and the presence of a stream along the trails and some good fruiting trees made for excellent bird watching. Parking is very limited however and little more than a small dirt pull off.
Trail conditions & character
“Blue trail is a nice woodland hike with long sight distances, other trails closer to the parking area have more greenery so you can't see as far.”
