Confirmed from Verne Samuelson Trail County Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Quiet, heavily wooded walking & hiking trail over hilly terrain running alongside a creek.
What runners say about Verne Samuelson Trail County Park
Actually a nice trail above Valley Creek. Not all flat. Plenty of ups and downs, so not just a stroll in the forest. I walked north to south. BIG draw back is that the north end is just a 2 car parking spot on Hwy 101. If you park there, try to back in so you can see on-coming traffic when you try to leave.
A pretty trail with sharp sloping into woods on one side of trail and fence with yards and houses against the other side of the trail. There were neighborhood dogs barking from their yards at us in some parts of the trail. Lots of lush greenery. Pretty easy trail with a little bit of hills.
A great nature trail close to town. My dog and I enjoyed the 3 mile hike.
Sometimes blocked by wind damage until a volunteer gets to it. Neighborhood dogs on top of the Ridge are a distraction and sometimes get loose and show up on the trail.
