Confirmed from Wahconah Falls State Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
48-acre wooded state park with waterfalls, picnic areas & hiking trails, plus fishing & restrooms.
What runners say about Wahconah Falls State Park
“No regrets here because the scenery was absolutely beautiful, and I recommend anyone in the area to see this place!”
“Such a peaceful spot to collect your thoughts and the light snow puts the cherry on top all of this!”
“It's a really small easy hike on wide dirt path that leads right up to the falls .”
I would have given this place a 5 star rating had it not been for the lack of signage & trail markings. It’s a beautiful place, parking lot is just a short walk from the gorgeous falls...just follow the sound. There are 2 nice large picnic tables at the falls. Reviews said to hike up river above the falls.
I’ve been to this place 3 times now. Flow of the falls fluctuates but every time I’ve gone there has been a steady stream. No swimming but the hike is moderately easy. There are some spots along the river to take some cool pictures. It’s an enjoyable hike as long as you bring bug repellent. Always check for ticks!
A quick walk to the falls. The initial trail down to the main path has a bit of an incline and then another to get to the main viewing area. Probably not even 5 minutes. Theres picnic tables and little grill stations. I would have loved to stay longer than I did.
Beautiful waterfalls! I found this while clicking around on Google maps and decided to check it out on a weekend drive. Totally worth it! Took my breath away. And the little hike up the river was gorgeous.
