Confirmed from Waikiki Springs Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Waikiki Springs Trailhead

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (176 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 12 mentions

“The trails get more aggressive and narrow but still scenic once you cross the river Valley.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 3 mentions

“So beautiful and peaceful and calm.”

👟 good for all levels 3 mentions

“Easy trail for strollers, jogging and taking younger children.”

One of my favorite places to walk my dog! It's so beautiful and I love seeing eagles by the river. To the bridge and back is about 1.5 miles and if you continue across the bridge, the main loop is about 3 miles. It's a heavily used trail, with many people walking dogs there, so I keep my dog leashed most of the time.

It's a nice little spot with streams, the little Spokane River, and a water fall. The trailhead starts at a cul-de-sac in a neighborhood and then leads to switch backs that take you down to an open area.

★★★★★ — Braden , Apr 2025

Nice trails and a little bit of everything, great place to go for a real outdoors walk

★★★★☆ — Taylor , Jul 2022

Fun family hike! You can make it as long, or short as you like. A downhill hike zig-zags down to the Little-Spokane river basin. There are small trails all over the place.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
