Confirmed from Walnut Springs Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Secluded, wooded park offering walking trails that are good for kids.
What runners say about Walnut Springs Park
“The trails are well-maintained and well-used, but there's still a nice feeling of woodland escape despite being so close to town.”
“Beautiful little area on the outskirts of the Borough to walk and enjoy nature.”
“Some of the trails are wider and some are narrow and covered with leaves, but either way, it’s peaceful and beautiful”
L-O-V-E-D it! A gorgeous area, filled with trails, sights, critters, and birds. Some of the trails are wider and some are narrow and covered with leaves, but either way, it’s peaceful and beautiful
A good and small urban park in State College. It’s a really cool park considering its use is for stormwater. A good place to run or walk, although I do wish there was more done with the wetland area and more available seating. It has potential though
Beautiful park, nice trials, was able to take a stroller with no issue. Lots of bird activity with several miles of trails...As I said before the trails are pretty and a creek runs through a lot of the park...Great walk been going here for years 4.5 stars
Really nice walking trails that are well maintained. Several garbage bins are around , which is nice if you take your dogs with you. There are no restroom facilities, but it does connect onto Lederer Park that has portable toilets.
