Confirmed from Washington Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Washington Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (310 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 4 mentions

“It's well maintained and the awning came in handy for the sudden shower that came in while we were talking and catching up with friends from a VA group.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 3 mentions

“Beautiful clean and safe.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 3 mentions

“It's on the smaller side, but still nice and not crowded at all any time I drive by it.”

My traveling companion and I took my dog and our lunch here after the pizza place lady said only service dogs were allowed on the patio. It's a nice, big, clean park. There's even thick, green grass here. We sat at a table under the big shade cover.

★★★★☆ — Travel , Aug 2023

Lots of things to do and lots of space right when the Sun starts to set I usually take a walk I started the back end of the boys & girls club and loop around the whole park a few times a good walk and it's bubble ground which is a plus for me

★★★★★ — Frances , Aug 2021

Nice place for visiting, whether walking, biking, pickle ball, tennis, and there is a public pool. They also have sports for children.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadrestrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
