Confirmed from Waters Gulch Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🌾 quiet & peaceful 3 mentions

“Very beautiful and peaceful a nice long walk through the beautiful woods.”

Great trail for our Angiosperm fieldtrip for botany and had a good time, further towards the packersbay area. In spite of the mud, poison oak, and mosquitos. We had wonderful weather and saw a lot of plants - flowers, ferns, & conifers.

Very private. The trails split off so that's cool. Would live to go again and venture more.

Great trail with views of the lake and the other half of the trail is a scenic forest type trail. The forest portion has access to a beautiful creek. Had to hike off the official trail with a path leading down to a little gem of a spot. It had gorgeous lage rocks and the creek falling into a small pool.

Nice tail, easy to walk and short enough to not need to being water or snacks, but we'r had water anyway. It drops down to a stream and wanders along with a move view of the water (maybe, later into the drought it was noisily a view of dry clay WAY below the tree line.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
