Confirmed from Weequahic Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Green space with a large lake, golf course, running track, trails & athletic fields.
What runners say about Weequahic Park
“It is a really beautiful trail around the Weequahic Lake, about 2 miles, no pet.”
“Walk the trail around the lake and get your daily exercise in an enjoyable peaceful atmosphere.”
It's a very big park that from what I see certain areas are kept very nice And others places visitors just throw their garbage out of the cars. I rescued a cat that someone threw out of their car.
I absolutely love this park! The walking trail is great and an amazing workout. Minus 1 star because I did notice the side of some parts of the track is kind of breaking off and can be a potential safety hazard! Aside from that, it’s so beautiful & I absolutely loveee it!! Will be back!
Hidden gem in Newark with a scenic lake and quiet walking trails. Great spot for a peaceful walk, jog, or picnic. Less crowded, with a more local, relaxed vibe.
This park is clean and huge. My family jogged in the red track and got 4 miles in. The pond with a fountain is beautiful. They have porta potties which is convenient. We saw a lot of wild life. You must wear a mask. Free parking, benches, and places to relax in the grass.
