Confirmed from Weir Canyon Nature Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Weir Canyon Nature Preserve
This place was beautiful with easy trails for everyone. Take the trails up a mile up so you could see the views Poppies. You won’t see the flowers bc it was covered by the hills. Awesome place
Convenient gateway to undeveloped hills adjacent to our high density housing tracts. Intermediate 4 mile MTB loop can be ridden my most in under 40 minutes.
Caution: This trail isn't for everybody. Small chuldren, seniors, strollers etc stay away. Trail is dusty, rocky, busy with bikes, and steep. There are no water fountains. No places to sit and rest. Easy parking. INSANLY troublesome to get here. There are 2 trails, easy and hard.
We found free street parking up at 1000 East Overlook Terrace. The Weir Canyon Loop trail is well marked, about four miles long and if you do any regular hiking, this would be rated Easy. There are no Porta-potty’s.
