Confirmed from Wellington Environmental Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (563 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 11 mentions

“It was super well maintained and they had maintenance staff cleaning throughout the entire time that I was here.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 13 mentions

“The boardwalks are absolutely beautiful and the towers view is great but it has a serious wasp problem towards the top.”

🏃 great for running 2 mentions

“It’s a great running trail as it is paved.”

🌳 shaded & cool 4 mentions

“I came on a day when it was overcast and nice and cool but I will say if you came on a day when it was super sunny it will be very hot and there's very little shade.”

One of our best parks in the county. There are two small parking lots that access the trails. I used in parking lot 1, which is the north lot closest to Southern Blvd. The trails are all asphalt or boardwalk. There are numerous benches where you can sit and watch the wildlife.

Great park to explore with the family! There are 2 parking lots. Restrooms are located in the parking lot and throughout the preserve. There is a cute butterfly garden, paved trails for walkers, bikers, scooters, or roller skaters. They even have a trail that goes around the perimeter for horses.

Paved and gravel trails for walking, bike riding and ebikes. Horses can use gravel path. Great park with tall large birdwatching tower, clean bathrooms, water stations and great signage. You can ride bike or walk from town of Wellington and back for 12 mile loop.

We discovered this park only recently, while looking for places to get some fresh air and exercise while being able to social distancing. It has 2 entrances (the main difference between the two is that the North one has restrooms) with small parking lots, and 3 miles of walking trails where you can walk, run or bike.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
