We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of West San Gabriel River Parkway Nature Trail @ Candlewood St yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about West San Gabriel River Parkway Nature Trail @ Candlewood St
A nice surprise to see chicken coop!! Great easy trail to walk on. Stop and admire many flowers along the way. Summer 2024, saw a crabapple/berry tree..i was with it for a good moment trying to figure out if it's edible lol
This is a nice unpaved trail that runs parallel to the San Gabriel River Trail. People usually go across to the other side of the SGRT and go to the Liberty park where you can find restrooms, 3 pickleball courts, and a 300 meter rubber track. Loved the vibe of the community in the morning.
I usually a start my 6 mile runs here. The river trail park is one of my favorites.
This is a great find. Especially if you have children or dogs. It's a nice little nature trail to get a bit of exercise. It's easy to get to (near South St/Palo Verde) and was super clean. Thoroughly enjoyed it and will come back soon!
