Confirmed from West San Gabriel River Parkway Nature Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

This is a nice hidden gem of a location to take a walk and enjoy nature. It is a 2-mile roundtrip dirt trail that is well-kept and has multiple benches along the way in case you need a rest or just want to sit back and enjoy the sounds and sights of nature!

Good length for a nature trail (not actually sure how long). Not much nature to see, although we did see a Coyote which are known to reside there. Great exercise though and lots of flowers to see. You can also walk along the river to the other side and walk through the park.

Love walking this trail. Birds singing. Beautiful there. My dogs love it too!

★★★★★ — Patti , Feb 2021

Very nice trail. Visiters are nice too. There are big trees that provide adequate amount of shade. It is well maintained with planted flowers to attract butterflies. The water in the river along the trail is low, thus, we only found a snowy egret, and a great blue heron.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
