Confirmed from White Oak Mountain Trails' own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🌾 quiet & peaceful 3 mentions

“We enjoyed the peaceful area for about 2 plus hours.”

The white oak & bauxite ridge trail systems are among the best in the county! Trail blazes are everywhere and most intersections have a map and “you are here” marker. Having a small shelter with clean restrooms at the trailhead is a gem that sometimes goes unnoticed but when I need it I’m always thankful.

Nice trails for hiking and mountain biking. Even in the winter, the trees blocked much of the view when you’re at the top of the mountain. The trails are well marked, and they have a lot of trail maps located at the major intersections of the trail.

Lots of fun. I only had time to ride 1 trail. It was a good challenge and I look forward to bringing the family back to the White Oak Mountain Trail System. I rode “Big Red” it was like a 4.5 mile loop. Some of the steep short climbs got this fat old mans heart rate up a bit. There was single track. Switchbacks.

The trails are well marked. As this was only our 3rd time hiking we chose to take the green trail or easiest one. We saw a doe and her fawn, a couple snakes, a couple frogs, and lots of different fungi.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
