Confirmed from Whiting Woods Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Area featuring kid-friendly hikes and mountain biking trails, some with views.
What runners say about Whiting Woods Trailhead
“Our kids love running to see what's around the next bend & searching for another "beautiful view!”
“If you go to the left on the smaller trail, its shaded and the terrain is a bit more varied.”
Beautiful area. Lots to see. Trails are defined. Good area to hike, think, and observe nature. You see a few people, but not a crowded trail. The views are amazing. It was nice hiking with my husband and dogs. Take lots of water. There are some trails that are pretty steep. You will see birds, lizards, and bees.
Another great hiking trail in the Verdugo Foothills! We "hike" with our young kids, and having these flat, open walking paths are ideal for our little family. Our kids love running to see what's around the next bend & searching for another "beautiful view!" down into the valley
Beautiful, unique and verdant canyon. Difficult to access the upper canyon due to poor trail and tons of poison oak. But if you do, there are some rare plant species, like Humboldt's lilies.
The nature suddenly appears seemingly out of nowhere. There is shade in much of the trail which is welcome. Lots of single track mountain bike trails.
