Confirmed from Wildwood Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Wildwood Park
“Great trails, lots of paths, and a beautiful creek to play in or just listen to the water running”
“Once you walk down and are between the two bridges, it's super quiet, you can barely tell you're in the middle of a city.”
An awesome walking trail with lots of side trails, landmarks, and nature to explore along the way. Great for dogs. A hidden gem in Radford. Most of the trail is shaded so it’s great for hot days.
If you like nature trails more than parks like Bissett, Wildwood is connected to Bissett by a convenient trail that goes under E Main St right next to CVS and the Radford Public Library, the latest of which also has a nice little trail leading to it from the other side of the tunnel.
Good surface. Great stroll through untouched wild forest. Hundreds of species of plants and trees and just as many birds, squirrels and deer. There are off-shoots of other trails from the main trail that aren't marked. This real could use a little more care on mapping and trail identification.
Great trail to visit, it is paved in most places for easy comfort for a nice stroll. There are parts that are not paved as well for more of a trail experience.
Trail conditions & character
“There's a main paved trail, but there also several off-trails that are nice but not easy hikes around the surrounding area.”
“The main trail leads all the way to Wadsworth, with a couple more small parking areas along the way.”
