Confirmed from Wilkins Greenway Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Wilkins Greenway Trailhead

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (55 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 8 mentions

“Beautiful place for my evening run, I'll be sure to come back every time I'm in the area!”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 3 mentions

“So peaceful and beautiful.”

Beautiful trail. Connects small town Winder to Fort Yargo. Bamboo forest and small creek with wisteria along both sides of the trail.

The main gate at Fort Yargo State Park charges either for entry or parking. I'm not sure which one, though. This parking lot is free to park at, and you still have access to the state park. You will have to walk for about 20 minutes to arrive at the visitor center/main parking area from this parking lot.

This is a beautiful trail. Our favorite place to visit is the butterfly garden.

★★★★★ — Janee , Sep 2024

Beautiful trail! 2 mile round trip. The elevation sneaks up on you. Going toward Yargo there is a short incline at the end as you get to the visitor center. Coming back the last half mile inclines slightly the whole way.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🅿️ Trailhead parking 10 mentions

“After driving through what I thought was a bad part of town, we found a tiny little parking spot and almost didn't spot the trail head.”
