Confirmed from Willow River Mountain Biking Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Willow River Mountain Biking Trailhead
Nicely engineered trail. It is short (2 laps was 10 miles) with an elevation gain of 722ft. So, pretty nice climbs which are pretty much all at the Black loop at the back of the trail.
Big parking lot with some good space to hang out pre and post ride. Bathrooms on site that are big enough to change in. There is a beach, playground, and paved paths close so good place for families. Could use some better signage for the MTB trails (at least when I was there).
Literally 20 mins from St Paul. Tons of variety and more trails in the works. Definitely worth a Saturday if your time and more. Be aware you have to purchase a WI state park to enter the park in a vehicle.
Decent trail system that consists more back country and climbing. Don’t forget to check out the waterfall before heading out.
