Confirmed from Wilshire Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Charming park for fishing and walking, with a pond, swings and a fishing dock.
What runners say about Wilshire Park
“Has barbecue pits, picnic tables and a beautiful water view.”
“I took a star off because theres basically no shade anywhere on the playground and that is an egregious sin to me for a TX park.”
“Very nice, small oh, perfectly quiet little Park with walkway all the way around the pond, officially.”
Beautiful hidden gem next to the freeway. Lake surrounded by trail, picnic tables, and playground.
Nice park to walk around or you can just relax and go fishing have a picnic while the kids play on the playground
Beautiful, scenic, relaxing. Fished but it wasn't fish I was after. Peaceful recharge. And it worked
Nice park! We really enjoy Wilshire Park and the adorable pirate ship playground. The bathrooms and parking are convenient, and the pond with the fountain and sidewalk path make it such a pleasant place to walk.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
