Such a lovely spot and a great opportunity to learn about the legacy of industry in our area and the ways in which we are moving beyond it and cleaning up our green spaces. The settling ponds and wetlands are beautiful and informative. We did find a little tick on me after our walk so remember to check!
A very pleasant walk around the ponds and wetlands. Went late in summer but it wasn't too buggy. This is a remediation site for cleaning AMD run off before heading into Chartiers Creek. Used to allow dogs, but now there is a big no dog sign (losing a star Allegheny Land Trust, as this is not cool).
Such a cool Pittsburgh gem! Had a lovely time walking and saw at least 20 bird species, not a lot of other people around the trails. Tons of muskrat huts in the wetlands. We got a show from some Turkeys too - got about 40 yards from a Tom turkey who showed his fan after we gobbled at him.
Always a beautiful walk. There are so many different habitats to allow a safe haven for so many animals and plants. It is a unique park. Never crowded and fun to view anytime ofmthe year. It is so interesting to see it in different seasons. As a side note, no pets are allowed.
