We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Winnekenni Castle yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Winnekenni Castle
“Paved, flat dirt, and well maintained.”
“With the beautiful weather we experienced on the weekend of 2/11/24, we decided to hold a mid-winter photo session with my fellow car enthusiasts.”
The views here are breath taking. Great, easy walking trails with water and beautiful landscaping all around. The grounds are amazing. The castle was a dream
You can visit the castle anytime but I don't think you are allowed to enter. The view of the castle is spectacular. There are also a few remains of the stone made things the indigenous people used which are centuries old. Quite fascinating. There is a trail as well.
Beautiful grounds miles of trails. Super dog friendly (on leash) great photo ops. Also great for running and mountain biking and tons of opportunities for a picnic. Definitely recommend this gem.
Very picturesque location, beautiful castle flanked with beautiful hydrangeas and greenery. There are several trails to hike up. You can also park near the castle, walk around the pond and picnic in one of the spots. Some of the trails are buggy so don't forget to pest-spray yourselves.
