Confirmed from Woodlawn Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Woodlawn Trail
Nice short hike, theres a park right nearby and an abandoned school. We found what appeared to be two cabins off the trail that had small doors that were sealed off, we were wondering what they were use for
Nice trail but the beginning is very very steep. Would not be good for young children. I recommend hiking boots as it is also worn out to roots rocks.
Not that hard. Slightly steep start for less than a mile, not much difficulty after. Trail loop follows an old farm wall. Two overlooks with lots of trees. Saw a doe and two fawns on a mid morning hike. No other people. Chill hike.
Honestly a great trail. Easy to medium difficulty. Not a long hike. Some decent overlooks. The hill is initially a little steep but it levels out. Worth the hike. I recommend it if you're looking for a fun hike with some friends.
Trail conditions & character
“Very steep start and it’s easy to veer off into other trails by mistake, but overall a very pleasant hike.”
“You can't see a whole lot from the overlooks, but they're nice.”

The practical stuff
- AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
