Confirmed from Yamato Scrub Natural Area's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Covering 217 acres, this natural area offers several miles of hiking trails and a marsh.
What runners say about Yamato Scrub Natural Area
“Incredibly beautiful, this place should be preserved forever as the surrounding areas are over developed there will be nothing like it in this size ever again around here.”
“You are in the city so not not a quiet place but don't have to worry about cars or bike.”
A hidden treasure in the middle of nowhere. I heard about the scrubs, and it took a few weeks to figure out where it was on my own before I finally googled the entrance. It was very serene. I am glad there was a cement path. Although you could venture out to the side trails that had a dirt path.
While the entrance to the area is easy to miss and the parking is very limited, the trails are definitely worth the time. There is a 1/2 to 3/4 mile sidewalk trail that leads to 2 different sand/dirt trails. The trails range from wide open to narrow with brush growth on both sides.
Small hike on the pavements around the park. Great walking/ relaxing under the shades of trees. No public restrooms. Small parking lots. We went on a weekday, so it was not a problem finding a parking spot.
Nice area to walk for a change of pace. Ten parking spots. You are in the city so not not a quiet place but don't have to worry about cars or bike.

“There's a small parking lot and there's 3 trails, we took the longer one which is around 3 miles (we promised ourselves to come back and do the other trails another day).”

“7 Mike paved Cicada Nature Trail with a little bit of the Sky blue Lupine Hiking Trail - the sandy Trail.”
