Confirmed from El Rio Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about El Rio Trail
“It's always serene except for crossing Spanish River Boulevard as there are no cars.”
Best biking/walking path when it is too windy on A1A. It starts from Boca ( by FAU on Glades) and ends at the border of Boca & Delray by the Central Park Townhomes and the stunning Natural Oaks ! They added a new bike station on the trail so you can put air in your tires ! 3rd Review Great biking/walking path.
Very nice and safe paved trail along a small waterway and several busy roads. Trail is approximately 8 feet wide and designed for bike use including a center dividing line. Very safe and generally well used. You can park at the train station to access trail if needed.
Clean, it felt safe. You can park at the Boca Ratón tri-rail station for free and go to track 2, - the northbound track, and walk into the pedestrian gate which connects the station to the trail. It has a bike path.
Great trail for a early morning bike ride. Roughly 8 mile trail if you go the full distance. Super peaceful and water is like glass in the morning. Just be sure to get out early to avoid the crowds.. Be safe out there! Update: City of Boca screwed this up..

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller

- At the trailheadparking, water — reported by runners
- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
