Best hiking trail in Steamboat! Full of bikers, walkers and joggers. The river makes for a perfect summer float trip…when the river is open.
Excellent day out viewing the beauty of the area, walking and fishing. Amazing athletes paddle boarding down the Yampa.
This is a nice place to park and access a number of bike and walking options along the Yampa River. There are parks, the boardwalk, and nice trails that will take you to downtown Steamboat. This is a great way to get to downtown for a brunch and burn all the brunch calories off before you get back to your car.
My wife and I each got a coffee to go from a local coffeeshop and walked along the Yampa River Core Trail. Even though it's very close to the road, it was a pleasant walk along the creek and you can turn around whenever.
