Confirmed from Yellow River Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Yellow River Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (1,784 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 7 mentions

“The fresh clean air, nature, water, and sound of natural water flowing, and birds singing and chirping, made for one of the best days I've had in a long time.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 11 mentions

“The park area is nice and fun for the kids and both the river and the creek (other side of the road) are beautiful.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 6 mentions

“The park was busy before noon on the Saturday we went and for as many people that were there, the atmosphere remained relaxing and surprisingly quiet.”

A large park with trails for horses, bikes and humans. From the bicycle parking area, there are many trails leading down to and along the river. The system of trail markers, directionals and blazes leaves something to be desired, but don't worry - pretty much all of the trails circle back to the parking lot.

Yellow River Park is really nice! It has some great trails to walk/bike on. One of the trails leads you to a sand walking path that takes you to sand beds and large rocks along the Yellow River. You can walk along these rocks and the river. There's also a nice playground for the kids and plenty of open field spaces.

Great place to cool off or get your walking going. The river can get crowded on the weekend since it's summer, but you can bring your cooler and enjoy the water. Several trails that needed clearer directions. There are bathrooms and parks to enjoy as well as picnic areas. Parking can be tedious.

Love this place. There’s space and lawn to enjoy a nice picnic, BBQ under the pavilion, restrooms and a playground. Walk the trails or walk down to enjoy the water. Getting to the water is a walk down but I appreciate it because it keeps it less trafficked that what it could be.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
