Confirmed from Stone Mountain Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Vast, scenic park with activities, golf, lodging & a cable car ride to a historic, carved peak.
What runners say about Stone Mountain Park
“The ride up offered an amazing close‑up view of the iconic carvings, and once we reached the top, we were greeted with stunning panoramic views in every direction.”
“From the moment you arrive, It’s peaceful without being isolated, and you can see families, friends, and solo visitors all making the most of it in their own way.”
Visiting Stone Mountain Park was an incredible outdoor experience and one of the most unique attractions in Georgia. The mountain itself is absolutely impressive, rising dramatically above the surrounding landscape and offering breathtaking panoramic views from the top.
We've been to the park for Halloween and Christmas. Had a great time on both occasions. They decorate the park and attractions for different holiday seasons and they really go all out to make it a real celebration of the season. Including the light shows at the end of the night.
Great hikes. Good views. The history of this place i had no idea about until I was there. Glad to see people of all kinds hiking to the top. The skylift gives a different view. The hike to the top is very cool for it being so close to Atlanta. You can get a certificate for hiking to the top.
Amazing time at Stone Mountain. Hiking was great. We decided to hike up to the top and take the tram down, but you can do it any way you want. Train ride was relaxing. The laser light, drone, fireworks show was the best I've ever seen. This is a must-do event if you travel to Atlanta.
