Confirmed from Zofnass Family Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Nature preserve with trails, an arboretum, and signs providing educational information.
What runners say about Zofnass Family Preserve
“Well maintained and defined trails with maps posted at major junctions.”
“Wonderful fall hike starting from upper shad around the swamp area, beautiful trees, boulders, wooden bridges and stepping stones.”
“I was concerned at first, but it's okay, because intersections with other trails are very clearly marked.”
Hidden Gem in Westchester. Well marked trails but still can be disorienting the first time. Such an amazing variety of Trees, plants and Rocks you just cant find elsewhere. Some breathtaking views and well shaded. Old growth woods. Thanks to Zofnass family , WLT and others for making this possible.
Nice place, secluded, have to pay attention or you will miss the entrance. Trails are nice. Very peaceful. Nice area.
Beautiful walk in the woods. Well maintained and defined trails with maps posted at major junctions. On the other hand, all trails have the same tree markers. While there are some blue paint splotches on the rocks on the south loop, there were many times, even with our own map, when we questioned which trail we had…
Great easy hiking, boulders, marshes you can walk through, an arboretum. Most trails are well marked with interesting signs along the way. Not heavily traveled which is nice. Parking is a little rough. Best probably at April and fall.
Trail conditions & character
“Parking is extremely limted but there are 3-4 different parking areas and entrances to choose from so if one is packed, try another.”
