A place where time stands still. Alan Seeger Natural Area is where you want to be on a hot summer day when you would rather breath in fresh mountain air instead of air conditioning. The natural area is filled with old growth hemlock trees and rhododendrons.
A beautiful place to spend a few hours. Deep in the mountains is Alan Seeger with it's 118 acres of old growth Hemlocks. It's a dark lush area with Detweiler Run and Standing Stone Creek passing through creating a fairy tail-like setting. It's never crowded and always well maintained.
Always a beautiful place to hike and explore. Late blooms make early July the time to be there.!!!!
Allen Seeger Natural Area is a great place to picnic, hike, play in the stream. There is a nice walk through an old hemlock forest, which if you time right around the 4th of July you will walk through a tunnel of Rhododendron flowers, there are wooden bridges crossing small streams and places for kids to play along…
