Confirmed from Apex Park Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
This starting point for hiking & biking has parking, restrooms, a bike pump & info board with maps.
What runners say about Apex Park Trailhead
“Beautiful hike very close to Denver.”
“Trail network had a lot of shade for front range location.”
“Recommend that trail for a beginner/ group if you want a fun easy trail that’s not too far away!”
This is a fantastic park with many trails to enjoy, for both bikers and hikers. We took the light rail from Union Station to Jeffco Gov center (line W) and walked (1.2 mile) to the Apex park. The park has restrooms and a couple of picnic tables before the trails. Lots of wild flowers, nice breeze and spectacular views.
The trail is great and the enchanted forest part of it is magnificent. It’s a loop, so you can go either way, but to the side we went to the first 4 miles gain 1400 ft elevation and than you have a bit more than 3 miles alternating elevation with a general decline in elevation.
This is a good trail 9 miles long whit very stepped rock climbs need some experience to do it all the way up and down but you always can walk your bike went you don’t feel safe that’s nothing wrong with that!!
We did the enchanted forest trail with 8 ladies. It was perfect for a hike that was more or a nature walk with a few uphills. The tree cover was lovely on the sunny day too. Recommend that trail for a beginner/ group if you want a fun easy trail that’s not too far away!
