Confirmed from Apollo Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Green space with a playground, BBQs, ball diamonds, indoor & outdoor athletic courts & restrooms.
What runners say about Apollo Park
“The park is amazing clean and people came to enjoy picnic area, museum playgrounds and inside teens game basketball”
“A beautiful well taken care park, with safe section for toddlers and youth”
My fave park in Downey, great layout, design of park, as well as location. The walking trail, is just the right length for 4 laps, and the large leafy trees provide limited protection from the sun.
This park has a lot of activities for everyone of all ages. There's lots of seating available at the concrete tables located under the covered roof. I saw lots of people walking their dogs around the park. And there's a Vallarta located right across the street in case you get hungry while you're at the park.
Came here for a soccer tournament, the park is very nice. The soccer fields are turf and looked very nice. The park had gazebos with picnic tables which worked out great since we were a large group and were able to have a potluck/gathering that accommodated everyone and also kept everyone dry since it was raining in…
Amazing view and it's not too far from the Hollywood sign. Fun drive and nice houses and you can hike but there may be snakes so it's 50/50. Close to the planetarium as well.
Trail conditions & character
“And they even have FREE PUBLIC BATHROOMS LOCATED IN THE RECREATION ROOM right next to the picnic tables!”
“A beautiful well taken care park, with safe section for toddlers and youth”
“The park has plenty of parking but there is limited parking on the side where the jack-in-the-box is which is the side the GPS directs you to.”
