Confirmed from Aurora Sanctuary State Nature Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Aurora Sanctuary State Nature Preserve
“Absolutely beautiful trail and very secluded, but not maintained much with LOTS of poison ivy.”
Beautiful park. Today there were lots of downed and uprooted trees from a recent windstorm. Trail has been cleared. I wish people would stop spray painting the blind though.
This place is absolutely amazing. When you pull into the parking lot the trail will be to the left. Go down that trail when you come upon a sign that has three color trails. They all loop so adventure on.
Beautiful low-key park with minimal trail impact and a very natural feel.
This is a great place to get away from crowds. Not the best signage, but only three main trails that seem to have blazes for you to follow, for the most part. The red trail is significantly high grass in areas, borderline uncomfortable to hike in a few spots. Take a stick or pole. Please don't wear shorts.
