Confirmed from Barberville Falls Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Relaxed waterfall destination with a steep trail down to its base, plus hiking trails and parking.
What runners say about Barberville Falls Preserve
“The yellow trail to the falls is a quick, steep down hike, Falls are gorgeous; be prepared for mosquitoes, and good shoes as it can be muddy after rain.”
“5 mile hike around, rocky and a couple steep hills and make sure to follow the marked trees because it isn't easy to follow the path!”
“We did the falls trail and then the orange loop which was a very easy hike muddy half the time but might just be that time of year.”
Best kept secret! 1.5 mile hike around, rocky and a couple steep hills and make sure to follow the marked trees because it isn't easy to follow the path! The falls was beautiful but steep to get there and back so you definitely have to be a little in shape. Totally worth it!
Amazing and beautiful trail. This is moderate I would say, you should have adequate hiking shoes and you will have to cross at least two streams. It gets muddy so try and wait a little bit after it rains if possible. There is a decent amount of elevation change so be prepared, but it's not crazy.
100% well worth the hill climb down AND back up! Beautiful during the winter and I can imagine, even more beautiful during the warmer months! They do have have hand lines and stairs to make the trek down and up, a bit easier! ☺️ beautiful sitting area with a great view of the falls!
The waterfalls are beautiful, lots of rocks to sit on. Super refreshing water. Easy walk from a large parking lot. The other side of the rocks are private property and someone may come down to say to leave that part however there is more than enough room to enjoy, even on busy days.

“Parking area is on main road, so you have to walk along a county highway to get to trail, so need to be careful for speeding cars (which were plantiful when we went).”
