Confirmed from Baskett Slough National Wildlife Refuge's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🌾 quiet & peaceful 4 mentions

“I have been lucky to be able to visit this serene wildlife in all seasons.”

A serene place. Even in summer, when there are fewer birds, the refuge proves itself alive. Herons and egrets wade through shallows, turkey vultures circle above, deer and coyotes wander the golden rolling hills.

★★★★★ — Tim , Dec 2021

An amazing find. Beautiful rolling hills. Oregon White Oak trees. Great trail. Drove about a mile on a good gravel road. Great views and a tranquil walk.

★★★★★ — Thomas , Sep 2021

This beautiful reserve has lots of trails, wildlife and epic views! It’s one of my favorite places to do senior photos. The roads and trails are pretty accessible but they are all gravel and most of the trails are just dirt so just keep that in mind.

★★★★★ — Hannah , Aug 2025

This spot is amazing at any time of year.... Autumn makes the leaves fall, making it easier to spot the birds, though they're always plenty visible, since they have the run of this refuge.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
