Confirmed from Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary Nature Center's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Wildlife sanctuary for raptors and wolves, also housing a nature center.
What runners say about Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary Nature Center
Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary was a really special place to visit as an out of towner. It’s peaceful, full of wildlife, and offers a nice mix of education and natural beauty.
YOU HAVE TO GO HERE This place is as big and well run as most small zoos, and it's completely free (though I would suggest donating). You can get corn to feed the absolutely massive flocks of geese and ducks just wandering around all over the place.
My grandkids love the "Goose Park"! The large animals are great to see when they're out. Finding the wolves is very fun. Inside exhibits are neat for the kids to see. Great job on the Observatory building, and it's especially nice for rainy or cold days. Even a wonderful story dark slide.
Very nice place to walk through. I wasn't sure what to expect on a very cold day but it was lovely, the animals look happy, one even enjoyed a heat pad! The wolves walked around, the foxes had opened their Christmas present!
Trail conditions & character
“Beautiful place with many area's to explore along side waterway to see many kinds of water birds as well places where children and the handicapped can catch fish.”
